The first session is an evaluation for me to learn about your current difficulties, the history behind those difficulties, what you have already tried, and what resources you have (eg. social supports, good health). Together, we will develop a treatment plan that begins the second session. Homework assignments are usually given and your participation is of paramount importance in order for you to achieve your goals. My goal is to help you learn the skills and tools you need so that you can thrive and enjoy life.
Treatment is usually short term (6 to 10 sessions) and problem-focused. Longer-term therapy is also available.
